Whoop! Here’s another bunch of answers/questions! (I’ve got so many nice and dedicated comments lately, and that makes me so happy. I just want to hug all of you!)
Kommentar 1: Hej Ebba!
Kommentar 2: Hejhej! Det uttalas in fact klubb maatee.
Comment 1: Hey Ebba! I have a very important question that I hope you can answer. I was on a hipster cafĂ© in Stockholm a while ago and wanted to drink Club Mate, but when I ordered at the counter, the guy corrected my pronunciation. I said it somewhat English, think “Klabb Mejt”, but he said it with a long, club maaate. How is it pronounced?! Do not want to risk offending another hipster dude :))) Hugs!
Comment 2: Hey! It’s actually pronounced club maatee. Now no more hipster dudes has to be insulted!
Haha I love this question. I was so surprised when I saw that they sell Mate in almost every grocery store nowadays when I moved to Gothenburg. I say neither Mejt or maatee, probably more of a “German” pronunciation, maybe like the hipster dude. It’s so hard to describe pronunciation in writing, haha.
Hej. Pluggar distans? Varför mĂ„ste Sean bo i Berlin? Ăr han frĂ„n Sverige? Ăr det Berlin du ser dig sjĂ€lv bo i nĂ€r du tĂ€nker pĂ„ framtiden?
AlltsÄ! Vad fint!
Hi! Thank you for an inspiring blog! I can barely count on my fingers how many years I’ve followed you hehe, I feel like we’ve grown up together. And I have never commented either! Buuuut I think it’s so exciting this with your relationship and Gothenburg/Berlin and how everything works, I just wonder why you move back to Berlin now. What will happen with your school? Will you study on distance? Why does Sean have to live in Berlin? Is he from Sweden? Do you see yourself staying in Berlin when you think of the future?
Wow, thank you! It really feels like I have grewn up with you, too!
I really understand that all my moving back and forth is confusing! I’m going to have a 3-month internship at a PR agency in Berlin from mid-April to mid-June, that was why I decided to go to Berlin again originally. I haven’t really seen it as a real “move” until recently, since I’ve been feeling so in love and happy there that the risk that I’ll stay even after the internship is veeery big. In that case, I’ll take a study break in my current education and study something interesting on distance in the autumn. But Sean and I haven’t really lived together for real before, so of course it all depends on that everything works out fine. Right now that feels very likely.
Yes, Sean is Swedish and raised in Stockholm. The reason we’ll live in Berlin is partly because I like Berlin more than he likes Gothenburg, and I already have lots of work and friends in Berlin, while he would have problems with continuing his music career in Gothenburg. In addition, he owns an apartment in Berlin, and I am renting mine second hand, so I simply have better opportunities to move than he does. I don’t know where I see myself far in the future, Berlin is probably most fun to live in as a young adult and perhaps no place you really want to settle down or get kids at. But I don’t know. There’s no place I like more for the moment, anyway.
Does it feel a bit odd not to belong to vegan/vegetarian community anymore? I was omnivore for 12 years, then lacto-ovo vegetarian for 10 years, and now Iâm pescetarian. I still eat mostly veggies but I do eat fish couple times a month. I noticed itâs a pretty touchy subject because ârealâ vegetarians/vegans often frown upon any eating behavior that differs from theirs. On the other hand, meat-eaters often have totally different mindset and different morals than I, so I find it hard to relate to anyone lately.
Yes, I really relate to this! I feel exactly the same way. In heart I still feel like a vegan (I know some of you might find that provocative), and I have absolutely no valid arguments at all for eating meat or fish even though I sometimes do. But I’m not allowed to be a part of that community anymore, just as you said. Don’t really know what to do about that though, I guess I just have to get used to it or go back to vegan.
Hey Ebba, thanks for answering the questions! It’s always nice to get to know you a bit better đ I wish you and Sean all the best, it feels really amazing to finally move in together after a long distance relationship! <3
socks + slippers = awful style
please don’t do that
Ah, Ebba, you’ve broken my heart by kissing another guy đ
E-kisses for you.
