Long live the sisterhood

Hej. Vill bara slänga in en stor jävla dos kärlek till alla fantastiska tjejer som hänger med mig här. Jag hade tänkt skriva en längre krönika kvinnodagen till ära, men ibland orkar man bara inte proklamera det självklara. Jag vet ju att ni helt oundvikligen är väl medvetna om hur galet det är att vi lever i en värld där vi tjejer alltid måste prata lite högre för att höras, där vi förväntas ta det sociala ansvaret, ständigt objektifieras och döms utifrån utseende, där personen på världens mäktigaste position får använda uttryck som “grab them by the pussy”. Där sexism, våld i nära relationer och löneskillnader fortfarande finns. Vi lever mitt i det.

Nä, istället vill jag tacka er brudar för att ni finns. För att ni kämpar, står ut och stöttar. Systerskapet jag har med mig i ryggmärgen hela tiden tack vare er, min mamma, min syster, mina tjejkompisar och alla kvinnor innan oss är det starkaste och finaste jag har. Tack.

Hi. I just want to give all of the amazing girls reading this a big dose of love. I planned to write a long post about feminism to honor the international women’s day, but sometimes you just feel too tired to proclaim the obvious all the time. I know all of you girls are well aware of how mad it is that we still today, year 2017, live in a world where girls always have to speak a little louder to be heard, where girls constantly are judged by looks and objectified, where things like violence in relationships, differences in salary still exists and where a man who uses the expression “grab them by the pussy” can be put on the most powerful position. We all are in the middle of it.

Instead of that, I just want to thank you girls for being there. For fighting, supporting and inspiring every day. The sisterhood I feel every day thanks to you guys, my mum, my sister, my girlfriends and all the women before us is the most important thing I have. Thank you.
